Work satisfaction refers to a person's sense of fulfillment on the job, which serves as a motivator to continue working. It's not about self-satisfaction, happiness, or contentment; it's about job fulfillment.

Job satisfaction refers to a person's overall relationship with the company for which he gets compensated. The simple sensation of achieving any aim or objective is referred to as satisfaction. Job dissatisfaction brings an absence of motivation at work.

Definitions of Job Satisfaction

Job satisfaction is defined as an individual's positive affective reaction to the target environment as a result of the individual's assessment of how well the environment meets his or her needs (davis, 1991).

Higher Productivity - Employees who are satisfied with their jobs tend to be more productive, regardless of their job title or pay grade.

Increased Profits - Maintaining a safe and happy workforce can result in more sales, lower costs, and a healthier bottom line.

Loyalty - When employees believe the firm is looking out for their best interests, they are more likely to support its mission and work hard to help it reach its goals. They may also be more likely to inform their friends, spreading goodwill.

 

Employee happiness is a goal that most companies aspire for, but not all achieve. That's why it's critical for HR professionals to understand the aspects that can boost employee satisfaction and how they contribute to a company's overall performance (villanova university, 2022).
